Welcome to Mike Turners Plaques and Painting.

Mike is a time served painter and decorator who has been working in his home town of Darlington for many years. He has satisfied thousands of home and business owners with the high standards of his work and friendly professional attitude. Mike has had a passion for art for many years and after doing a one year intensive art course at Darlington Technology College he decided to turn his hand to more rewarding artistic pursuits and started a business creating beautifully crafted, hand painted personalised plaques for the people of Darlington and the surrounding areas. Mike has been extremely successful and has furnished many homes in Darlington with his charming personalised plaques.

Why choose a Mike Turner plaque?

Mike puts a great deal of time and passion into each plaque he produces, every single one is a complete original, tailored to the thoughts and needs of the client. Mike takes great joy in finding out from his clients exactly what the feel and style of the plaque should be. The end result is a fabulous personalised plaque that the client can be proud of and cherish for many years to come, you see Mike understands that the plaques he produces are often for memorable and commemorative purposes. It is with this in mind that Mike passionately paints, putting his skill and thoughts into every single brush stroke.

Every piece is 100% original.

Mike is an environmentally conscious man and only uses recycled wood for his plaques, he uses hard wood recycled from off cuts of old furniture and floor boards. The types of wood Mike uses are Oak, Beech and Ash. By using recycled wood Mike breathes new life into things otherwise discarded, to bring great joy and happiness to the owners of his bespoke personalised plaques. All of Mikes plaques are painted with water colour and then varnished 3 or 4 times to stand up to the weather. Mikes plaques make great house number displays and he always makes the plaques bright and interesting to make the house numbers stand out. If you are taking a walk in Darlington or the surrounding areas, there is a good chance you will pass some of Mikes work.
